It was in the council chamber of Courcelles de Touraine, and at the initiative of its Mayor Dominique Flabot, that a delegation from the Courcelles de France met to prepare the drafting of the statutes that were submitted to the general assembly. For Courcelles Chaussy: Jean-Marie Gori, Stéphane Desjardin and Luc Giambérini , for Courcelles 58: M. Paitre and Philippe Gilles, for Courcelles Sapicourt: Denis Ronseaux, for Courcelles de Touraine: Dominique Flabot, Michèle Villette, Annie Bremaud and Hervé de Briançon.

In 2000, the General Assembly was held at the longest table in Europe (registered in the Guiness). On a departmental road in a straight line, a table of 2280 meters was set up. 7082 guests were gathered on this occasion. The salt that the mayor of Courcelles sent to his colleague from Channay on Lathan, a village at the end of this road, took a little time to reach him…

The elected representatives had taken their seats on a former fire truck that belonged to the commune of Courcelles de Touraine. The truck walked the table from one end to the other with an atmosphere of liberation, so there was popular jubilation along the way! (Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the photos)
